The Vision

Respectful Community Relationships

  • As Mayor my efforts will be to work with community leaders and citizens to encourage strong relationships that are built on trust and fairness. Relationships that contribute to long-term hope and optimism, not pessimism.

  • Doing so will put to rest any doubts of those who believe that the City would seek to dominate any relationship it may have with its businesses or citizens.

Teamwork and Accountability

One Team - One Goal

  • All levels of City staff will deliver a pleasant, accommodating and welcoming experience to the citizen each and every time. The four main ingredients that will drive this experience are:

    • Open Communications
    • Relationships
    • Mutual Respect
    • Accountability
  • Immediately conduct Benchmark Performance Audits and Efficiency Studies to identify how decision-making and operations could be modified to improve both performance and efficiency.

Economic Development

  • Recruit appropriate new industry to Norfolk and help existing businesses expand.

  • Buying Local. Simply put, our City needs to lead by example and do all it can do to responsibly support the local tax paying businesses in Norfolk with its purchases of goods and services.

  • Improvements to City parks including Memorial Field and Ta Ha Zouka Park.

  • Create opportunities to address the needs of our youth in the community.

  • Maintain neighborhoods where families feel safe and secure by providing Police and Fire Departments the necessary support and resources.
