What About “The public”?
NORFOLK — I didn’t realize the “public” made its wishes known to have the city offices at a downtown location, as reported in the Daily News on March 4. I feel the public is being railroaded into public offices.
Whatever became of the community development investments in a former meat-processing facility as well as the former Dale Electronics building?
I, as one citizen, am no longer going to allow the voices of elected officials, who supposedly are paid less than poverty wages, to determine and control the wants of the public. If our city council has nothing better to do than rush into new offices and promote water parks, while others can’t seem to operate in the black and do little to attract even small industry and infrastructure to our city, perhaps we, the public, don’t need them. Let the public speak.
